Meet John J. Crocamo, DMD

Dr. John Crocamo has been practicing dentistry since 1988. He attended Boston College for his undergraduate studies, and he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Crocamo holds membership with the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Naugatuck Valley Dental Association.

He enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering and assisting local charities such as the Women of Domestic Violence. Dr. Crocamo also coaches the Sprinters Swim Team at the Ansonia YMCA and is a supporter of the Oxford Little League. Outside of the office, he enjoys competing in triathlons.

Meet Rebecca D’Andrea, DDS

Rebecca D’Andrea graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1988. She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond. As part of her residency, Dr. D’Andrea completed advanced education in General Dentistry through the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. In 1998, she completed a Fellowship in Dental Education in Care of Persons with Disabilities.

Dr. D’Andrea has been practicing dentistry since 1995. She has also provided her services as an educator for a Dental Assisting program through Del Castle High School in Wilmington, DE. Dr. D’Andrea believes in providing high-quality dental care with compassion to every patient.

Dr. Rebecca D’Andrea lives in Stamford and enjoys spending time with her three daughters and Great Dane, Willow. When not at the office, she can often be found cooking, practicing yoga and meditating. Dr. D’Andrea loves to travel, and especially enjoys ski trips with her daughters.

Meet Bruce R. Sofferman, DDS

Since 1982, Dr. Bruce Sofferman has been helping his patients smile. He graduated Magna cum laude from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Sofferman received his dental education at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Dr. Sofferman is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Additionally, he is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Naugatuck Valley Dental Association.

Dr. Sofferman also contributes his time to multiple charities and fundraisers including Toys for Tots, the Women of Domestic Violence and Area Congregation Together/Spooner House Shelter Food Drive, and the Oxford Little League.

Meet Sarai Ruiz Nieves, DDS

Dr. Sarai Ruiz Nieves, was born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She graduated with honors from a bachelor’s degree in General Science with a Minor Biology in 2005 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Later, in 2009, she obtained her Doctors in Medical Dentistry from the University of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Ruiz preceded to broad her spectrums, by doing a General Practice Residency and Hospital Dentistry in the Ohio State University. Through her 2 year residency program, she was able to perform full-mouth restoration, cosmetic cases, and the restoration of implants. After her residency, she was also able to be part of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, expanding her dental care knowledge, to manage and treat children in a more comprehensive way.

Dr. Ruiz, sees dentistry as one of her biggest passions. She understand that getting dental work can be overwhelming and tries to treat each patient with understanding and compassion, so that all their needs are met.

In 2014, she and her husband moved to Connecticut, where she has been practicing since. She lives in New Haven with her husband and 2 dogs, Apollo and Falkor.

In her spare time, Dr Ruiz enjoys training for marathons, traveling, and hiking with her dogs. She also enjoys the occasional Star Trek marathon and the sporadic Netflix binge.

Meet Jeff Theis, DMD, MSD

“I am committed to providing the highest level of care, using an individualized treatment approach to create beautiful smiles.”

After working for several years in the field of chemical engineering, Dr. Theis attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating from dental school, he pursued a residency in orthodontics at the prestigious University of Washington Department of Orthodontics in Seattle. Dr. Theis has been practicing orthodontics in Seattle and Connecticut for over 15 years.

Dr. Theis lives in Branford with his wife and twin daughters. He enjoys music, ballet, cooking, reading, and automotive maintenance.
